EMBRACE THE MAGIC

✨Why is the Flamborough parade so magical?✨

Because of the lights! The people! All of the effort put into the floats! We could go on, but instead, let’s cover the essentials you need to know to make the most of the night!

EVENT ESSENTIALS

Make the most of your night by follow some suggestions ( Rochelle & her family attend every year — so these are tried & true! )

ARRIVE EARLY  — Take a drive through the heart of Waterdown this weekend & you may notice chairs lining the road. (Parade planners are asking that you NOT leave a chair out until Saturday morning) You’ll want to make sure you’ve got a game plan before you head out.

🛑  STREETS CLOSE AT 6 PM — if you need to get to the far side of the city, you need to do so before 6 o’clock or you’ll be taking a long detour

BRING NEW SOCKS TO DONATE — there will be people collecting donations of  new socks.

CONSIDER DONATING  💸– the parade is not free to put on & your donation this year will ensure the parade can continue in 2019.

🎄Fun Fact🎄  the parade will accept e-transfers & PayPal if you’d like to contribute but forget to bring your wallet.💰

•  SAVE SOME MONEY  — there will be vendors at the parade with cool light up toys, this is a night parade after all! Consider bringing one from home — not only will you be saving a few dollars (maybe consider donating it back to the parade) but you’ll also be helping the planet🌎

•  LETTERS TO S ANTA  — don’t forget to have your kids write to Santa. There will be people by to pick up their letters — don’t forget to use Santa’s full mailing address (& be sure your return address is legible!):

Santa Claus
North Pole
H0H 0H0
CANADA

🎄  PARADE BEGINS AT 6:30 PM SHARP  — starting at Rockhaven Lane, the parade will march down Hamilton St to Dundas & back up Main St.

If you have young littles, we suggest sitting closer the Dundas & Hamilton — closer to the beginning means you get the littles to bedtime sooner.

⛄  DRESS WARM  — I can’t stress this enough… wear your snow pants, bring blankets, pack hot drinks, don’t forget spare mittens & scarves. With the young littles, Rochelle even brings a hot-water bottle to help warm little fingers.

•  BRING CHAIRS & BLANKETS  — you’ll want to bring chairs, blankets or a wagon for seating.

•  PACK SNACKS  — remember to bring your water bottle (or hot chocolate for some added warmth!) & a couple of snacks. Waiting for the parade to start & getting back home both take time –plan ahead to keep the peace while the littles practice their patience.😅

Ready, Set – Ho! Ho! Ho!

This is an annual tradition for us & we look forward to seeing some of you there!

Let's talk about the $15 billion elephant in the room as CMHC estimates more than 2.2 million mortgage borrowers in Canada will be up for renewal in 2024 and 2025. This has left hundreds of thousands of Canadians bracing for their mortgage renewal and wondering if they'll be able to afford their home when their term is up.

🔥 With new builds catching fire 🔥 🏡 Homes sitting longer on the market 🏡 💰 Interest rates + the stress test hurting not only buying power or how much someone can afford 💰 But also directly affecting homeowners with variable rate mortgage products who have seen their payments significantly increase 👎
