The true heart of the city & home to much of the character buildings, downtown core & more... Hamilton Centre is comprised of 19 different neighbourhoods, but 14 main communities.

Say hello to Hamilton proper's east end communities - with a mix of some of the best areas for affordable character homes, iconic landmarks like Gage Park, the greenhouse & more - this part of the city is full of established neighbourhoods as well as up & coming communities!

The mountain refers to all of the Hamilton neighbourhoods on the mountain that aren't a part of one of the amalgamated communities that surround the original city limits.

It's quite expansive in size & encompasses approximately 44 square kilometres of land from the edge of the Niagara Escarpment out to the rural fields.

From sprawling subdivisions to country living to luxury with a view, there is a lot to discover on the mountain!

Founded in 1793, it was a very influential community & grew into the second largest British Upper Canada community. But as transit shifted & the rail line was introduced, the economic power shifted to communities closer to the lake.

Modern Ancaster is home to shops, an abundance of nature (including many waterfalls), easy highway access, large homes on gorgeous lots, as well as more modest family homes & many sprawling subdivisions.

Tucked into the hills of the escarpment, Dundas is a town intertwined with nature & offers incredibly easy access to McMaster University & Hospital. It’s also home to Dundas Conservation Area, some iconic waterfalls & a thriving downtown full of interesting shops!

Along with the historic & hillside homes, you’ll also find some subdivisions of newer builds along the southern corridor of the town.

Welcome to beautiful Waterdown, a unique part of Hamilton’s urban growth plan that offers the conveniences of city living with a small town feel all the while embraced by the nature of the niagara escarpment & greenbelt. 

It was amalgamated along with a few neighbouring communities to become a part of Flamborough in 1974 & then again by Hamilton in 2001. Divided into 2 communities, East & West Waterdown, this community is the closest to neighbouring City of Burlington which puts you that much closer to Toronto.

Binbrook is considered a neighbourhood inside of Glanbrook (a community amalgamated by Hamilton in 2001) but being a quiet suburb area set inside the sprawling fields of the rural escarpment, it has it's own real estate eco-system.

If you're looking for new builds & city amenities without feeling like you're living IN the city, this would likely be a great fit for you! Just a short 7 minute drive for the Hamilton Mountain amenities but also with lots of shops, facilities & restaurants right inside the neighbourhood -- Binbrook is a community that somewhat resembles the early years of Waterdown!

Becoming a city in its own right in 1984, Stoney Creek is a community tucked between Lake Ontario & the Niagara Escarpment. It experienced rapid growth in the 1970’s transitioning the area away from predominantly agricultural into a mixed use city. With easy highway access & most homes being less than 50 years old, it’s a community of many facets.

Another iconic location here is the Devil’s Punch Bowl conservation area & battlefield park. It’s also home to Confederation Park which is a waterfront park space with paved waterfront trails, the waterpark, beach access, restaurants & more!

This large community was formed in 1974 when Mount Hope, Binbrook, Glanford & a few other communities amalgamated before being amalgamated by Hamilton in 2001

Now, it’s one of the fastest growing communities in Hamilton as Binbrook & Mt. Hope continue to expand with new subdivisions sprawling out into the countryside.

Most of these communities are a fair distance to the main commuting highways, but offer an escape from the hustle & bustle of being inside the main city limits.
