We’re back this week with our new series… GENUINE LIFESTYLE PROJECTS
This series is all about loving life in your home… whether you’ve been there for a month or years, creating a home that is warm & inviting will help you continue to build up your equity! A home you love to be in is one you’ll stay in & that’s what we are all about!
Read on to find out how to create your very own blanket ladder!
I’ve always wanted a blanket ladder to store our throws & when Allie of Nature’s Tools told me we could do the project in under 2 hours, I was sold! Stay tuned to find out exactly how we made this eye-catching organizer — this is definitely something anyone can do!
– WHAT YOU’LL NEED –
• Drill or Hammer
• Pencil
• Sandpaper
• 20-24 screws or spiral nails
• 3 2 x 3’s ( two cut to 6ft, 5 or 6 rungs cut from the third)
• Tape Measure
• Wood Glue
• 2 half inch spacers
– STEPS –
1. Cut your 2 x 3’s — two 6 ft , 5 or 6 rungs (sand any rough cuts)
2. Find 2 half inch spacers to use to centre the rungs while you screw or nail rungs in
3. Measure the location of rungs on both 6ft 2×3’s
4. Set up one board, skinny side (2″ side) down
5. Layout the rungs aligning with the pre-measured markings.
6. Apply glue to one side of rung, put 2nd 6ft 2×3 in place then secure with 2 screws or nails.
7. Repeat for remaining rungs.
8. Flip & repeat for second side.
9. Sand any rough spots.
10. Paint or Stain
We told you this was a simple DIY… a great starter project if you are just breaking into the home decor DIY world!
